I understand that the modern term (at least for the first definition, tho it probably applies to the second definition as well) is grinagog. At least the first part of the newer word does fit better.

Sorry - I thought I had put a smiley face on my comment - based on the URL I was citing. Tho to be honest, I've used grizzledemundy myself, but had never heard grinagog until I saw it on that list. I no longer remember now which of the many places I've lived (or which ancient books) provided me with grizzledemundy. [I've only lived in the western hemisphere.]
